[1] Tuning check is an assessment of the quality of the tuning of the entire instrument. The client will be notified if findings reveal that tuning is needed and the client agrees, then the tuning check fee will be waived.

[2] Whether stained or painted a best attempt will be made to match the hue/color of the bar's original finish.

[3] Unfortunately bar repair is limited to only splits or cracks in wooden bars at the "end" of the bar, and are generally repaired with a dowel cross-member installed, glued, and clamped.
-
Splits and cracks in the middle of the bar cannot be glued and clamped because the thickness in that area is very thin and the surface area is too narrow to allow for adequate adhesion to occur. The glue will simply separate in time.
-
Bars broken into separate pieces simply cannot be reassembled using glue or cross-member bracing.
In both these cases replacement is the only solution.
[4] Over many decades of manufacturing, marimbas and xylophones were made with honduras rosewood. This wood has become extremely rare and is nearly impossible to obtain. Wood, suitable for bar percussion replacement, will be discussed during the initial assessment.

Note: Although aluminum can be fabricated, the shop is not set up to fabricate steel or synthetic bars from scratch. But they still can be tuned providing damage is not too severe.
